Central Vietnam is most notably defined by Hue and Hoi An. The former was an Imperial Capital with its famous Citadel and the latter a significant international trading port. However, today both cities have become tourism victims of their own fame. The charm of Hoi An's Old Town and port, has been overwhelmed by the influx of selfie-snapping visitors, also eclipsing Hue's royal standing. Yet I have tried to look beyond the obvious -  to the small hems [alleys] and points  the cities to capture artisans and the languid lifestyle.
